Peru: Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu
The Inca Trail. We did the classic 4 day trek covering 42km from the km82 marker in Cusco all the way to Machu Picchu.

Day 1 starts of relatively mild as we took in amazing views of the Andes mountains and surrounding valleys. You already begin to see some of the Incan ruins along the way!
No climbing yet.... but the start of the trail along the Vilcanota River.

Day 2 was like a rude awakening as we started the ascent of the first of 3 mountain pass. "Dead Woman's Pass" was the first one reaching an altitude of 4215m!!

Day 3 continued over the last mountain pass to Winay Wayna where we hiked along some Incan ruins.
Day 4, finally we made it to Machu Picchu!! Classic view of the Incan city.
